Fall Pot Up

Its always fun to see whose roots want medium & who is ready for large & in charge for next spring.

I like to use a dirt mix of Sunshine Planting Mix & Master Gardener Potting Up & tru organics food. All OMRI listed. I love Coast of Maine as well, but harder to find out here.

The planting mix has some extra nutrients & the added food is enough to support the plant through establishment. That way - when you put in the ground, every water / every rain, you’re adding to the dirt its rooting through. Natives work so hard to grow & spread on their own, and in my experience with full support when planted, its ok if they get forgotten, they’ll still flourish with time. ☺️

If you want a similar affect but only have the budget for one bag of dirt, not additives - go for OMRI listed Container / Bed Mix. They almost always have added nutrients for 3-5 years of growing in the container before you would replace. It’s a more affordable happy medium.
