Normally the pre-dawn light is time for computer checking, saying hi to Paul the Possum who is nosing around farmhouse when I walk up, starting watering.
Today was - what is that noise in the barn…?
Until I found mister mouse in the metal trash can. Tipped it for a runaway ☺️.
Its once again critter crawl-in time. I am a little behind, but I have Mole Max from Bionide for that. Victor works too but the big bag is the best $$ in my opinion. The caster oil pellets are like kitty litter, sprinkle it out & get the hose on it and all the little critters don’t like the smell.
I use it for the bunny’s too - especially bulbs in the spring. I try to put it out before incoming rain, so nature can water it in if at all possible. And, I try for a sprinkle around the barn to help encourage my little friends to stay on the land - sorry barn house is for the domesticated.

Tomorrow I should have enough moved to start my next 3 outside. I’ve already got some culled seeds going, so this batch from my Swallowtail Seeds Order:

I think it’s going to be Magpie Columbine, Delphinium & Mystica Penstemon up next. I try to go for a Spring, Summer, & Fall or Shrubby every new start time.
If there’s something you really love but just haven’t seen (or seen priced under $20 at landscape center) - let me know. ☺️ If it’s a native perennial - good chance I may even have seeds waiting.
Fingers crossed another beautiful day of progress, grain trucks rolling to elevator, drivers remembering farmers are working & combines rolling smooth.
Happy Harvest time!
