Good Morning

The people clocks always feel off to me this time of year, like the sun’s late for us… : )

Back to school & sports time always makes me think of the fridge. I still like to put my accomplishments up, fuel for the ‘getting back tuit’ after you close the fridge door motivation.

Almost ditch time, if I can get my arm going better:

Officially landing ditch pickup from my home-state line past the farm was a 5 year effort, and I so appreciate that awesome Civil Servant Linda stayed a few minutes late on my birthday in May to process it through. Hopefully hold on to that one for a few decades.

The intern who brought the MN Grown project to farmers market really made my summer:

Grandpa was always big on the Army’s “anything worth doing, is worth doing right” & my father Tom was incredibly supportive of my sister & I knowing how to do everything - and the greatest in his mind - was to create something. He would give us old appliances in the garage - “take it apart, see if you can find what’s broke”.

THATs the fun part - then he’d come back - “ok fix that & put it back together”… off he’d wander. Boy we tried!! And learned a lot.

My favorite project was middle school “Invent America”. I hope they still do it - dad & I made the “Space Saver Ski Rack”. I’ve got one for the barn on my winter putter project list.

I’m gonna name my first hybrid for him. I think it’s gonna be a larger puff columbine - but whichever cross-pollinated seed sprouts unique - #1 will be Tom’s.

ok Matt - headed outside, Happy ‘tuit time!
