Loss That Comes With Life

It’s a rough week of “life” anniversary’s - but the memories of the most difficult times are fuel for the future, if you work to put it back in the ground, where it belongs.
We lost my father Tom, 14 years ago.

Time doesn’t take away the pain of voluntary departures (tomorrow is also 13 years for my brother-from-another Vince), but you did get better at carrying the lessons learned.
And so, on this blustery, dreary, sub-zero day, time to mix up the seed start & go, because:
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver lining of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near; when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit,
It’s when things seem worst… that you must not quit.
First under lights - Bachelor Button.

So many folks at Farmers Market last year mistook Scabiosa Pincushion for Bachelor Buttons so - I found an annual heirloom that may self-seed, and this year we’ll have both.
