Today was almost stitches day for one.
I rolled back in from a trip to town-town, & there’s mom getting after standing mulch…. But oh, she had an injury for me to check 🙄
Thankfully, her little electric kick it saw is pretty safe, and it didn’t eat in stitches deep, just steri strip / maybe some super glue once it settles, BUT -

What happened to my mom is EXACTLY why I firmly believe, in laughing whenever someone tells me:
“You could get so much more done with power tools”
Yeah maybe - BUT - you gotta sell your soul for the gas or electricity, you can overwork your strength quickly, even if you are comfortable & trained - equipment does still fail.
My hand pruners are powered with good ‘ol meat & potatoes & fruit oh my!
I get to enjoy the lovely sounds of nature as I work, instead of drowning them out with machinery noise.
I get more time at home, less at the gas station filling up cans.
And - I can safely, slowly tackle huge projects, on my own.
Stay safe everybody!
Watch out for the “too much, too fast”.
& hey - try a human powered one sometime. Its pretty fun ; )
