It’s such an exciting moment @ Heartland Acres Conservation Farm
This morning - I got to watch the river otter play in the sunshine - on land for the first time - pintails were getting future duckling rowdy on the pond, and payment cleared on my nursery license fee for 2026 - so I will be available in town soon, possibly well before mother’s day.
I often say - it takes what it takes, and it’s true.
You work, you believe, you wait to see… and every now & then, the milestone moments appear, to help you keep going for the next one.
Should have some extra special photos & video posted tonight of the conservation work here at the farm my baby business supports, when the outside work is done.
Sending out the Spring Specials to my snail mail folks (yes I believe in snail mail!) tomorrow.
If you’re local - keep an eye out for me & Oscar Truck at Central Park, yellow flag will be flying soon.
First offerings will be the hold over Columbine, Yarrow, Phlox, Sedums & Allium that are roaring out of dormancy and hardy enough to handle several more rounds of frost / freeze as they come.
If anything you’ve gotten from me didn’t get in the ground, you’re worried about dormancy, was a fail somehow - just let me know.
I’m in it for the long haul, ya know at least 4 decades, since I’m only a lil over 4 decades myself.
Happy to label & TLC if it was a tough winter or replace if needed - no charge of course. I’m out here anyways & sometimes we buy but life takes the time & whoopsie, roots didn’t get in like we thought, things come up.
& if anyone knows they are gonna buy a few, or want perennial cut flowers this summer, all gift certificates come with 20% off coupon, for anything purchased when you use it - over the amount or not, because as a start up, working to turn almost 38 acres by hand with at least 8 going back to food production, spring support pre-season is just so appreciated.
Don’t forget to water on the warm days, especially any late plantings snuck in the fall, to ensure best growth this season.
Thank you for all the kind words, last seasons sales, & excitement.
I can’t wait to see what we grow together!
Kristin
Here comes 2026 - this is the year.
