Heat Wave Sprouting Results

I have always believed, if nature is going to provide 2 of the 3 optimal growing conditions, & you can supplement the 3rd, you have to grow for it. Take any opportunity you can, to push that line out.

Since we had a massively warm heat wave come in right as we gained an extra hour of light, I got after seeding and watering. I slightly over-baked myself, with soak-misting seeding beds 4x a day, and soak watering potted 2x a day.

I think I'm about 12 gallons of water back into me now since yesterday morning (forgot to water myself), and yes oh boy it was worth it!

Ruddy-becka, Lupine, Milkweed, Sweet Pea, Bachelors, Birds Eye, and a few others popped in under 6 days, with the perfection of conditions provided by nature. I apologize it affected my ability to get to town this week. I'm working on our future friends.

I hope all enjoyed the graduation excitement, party decorations adorning even the countryside & the kids having their proud moments. It's always a wonderful day when anybody gets to reach a milestone and look toward the next steps forward. Everybody who doesn't have a gluten allergy - eat an extra slice of cake for me please!

Hopefully this next round of weather is good rain without too much extra rowdiness. IF you were thinking about downloading that free bird ap Merlin I am always crowing about - now is the time! Head over to the resources page and check it out. Cornell's (the University that built the ap) Birdcast for our area is: yes look for that birdie you hear! time.

And these cloudier days, make them easier to spot.

Yellow Warbler in Lilac's:

The colors jump out more in the trees and shrubs leafing out when the sunshine isn't SO bright for a little while.

Happy outsiding - & Yes Mr. Warbler, more work in the forecast, sorry for the mess, of progress in process...
