Momma Nature on the Watering

Thank you for the much needed rain!!

Its been a beautiful 1st day of September, slow drizzle off & on this afternoon & a few good moments of much needed actual rain, with more setting up.

What a blessing.

Took advantage of not having to haul the hose for some much needed rib rest. I feel like a wuss sometimes, but when the Chiro says, oh no, your cartilage is really inflamed: ok then.

Where’s that big bandage, just wrap the ice pack on - and get after some cooking.

1st squash stayed here, little ripe but the rest will come quicker.

It just finished cooking, potatoes already done, time to mash ‘em up. I highly recommend squash mashers: 1/2 & 1/2 potatoes & squash.

Freezes well, and delish with bbq anything, right in the middle where some put gravy. Yum.

Broccoli, Cheddar, Potato soup in the morning & tomato soup will be next. Gotta take advantage of the cool night lows before that next heat wave hits & it’ll be too warm to cook fresh.

And it’s always a good day when you get to hang another brown bag to dry.

Grounds not frozen for a while yet - still go time.

Winter will be long & good for some rest, but gotta earn it first. 😜

Happy September!
